Q. What are your policies regarding room usage?

Q. Is there a fee to use a conference room?
A. There is no fee to use the room, however any costs (such as catering, extra
tables/chairs, etc.) are the responsibility of the department or individual using
the conference room.
Q. Can non-UAF affiliated groups use your facility?
A. No. At this time we limit the use to UAF and UA departments only.
Q. Can I reserve a room for a luncheon?
A. No. We do not provide our conference rooms for luncheons, however, if your
event runs across meal times, you may include catered dining. For catering contact,

page.
Q. Is there a copier I can use?
A. Yes, in the Keith B. Mather Library, Akasofu Building room 202, pay by JV or cash.
Q. Are fax services available?
A. No.
Q. Will there be a computer or laptop available for
our use?
A. No. You must provide your own computer. For a list of presentation equipment
that we provide please see our conference room information.
Q. If I have questions or need assistance during the
event, who should I contact?
A. IARC Operations is now located in room 415. Or call Vicky at 474-1584
or Jamelle 474-1597.
Q. How much time should I allow for set-up and clean-up?
A. Depending on the needs of your meeting, plan plenty of time for set-up, take-down and clean up, leaving the room in its original arrangement for the next group.
Q. Will IARC staff hang signs up for our event?
A. No. Please contact IARC Operations regarding where you may put your signs.
Q. Can we serve alcohol at our event?
A. No. Alcohol is not permitted in the Akasofu Building for any events.
Q. What are the conference room hours?
A. Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. For exceptions, please contact IARC
Operations at 474-1584 or 474-1597 so that we may arrange card key access for before
and after hours use.
Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel your reservation. We would like at least one week's notice, if possible.
Q. Is parking available for our event?
A. There is limited visitor parking available in back of the Akasofu building and a few spaces in the
front, which fill quickly. Parking passes can be purchased at UAF Parking Services 474-7275 or 474-5465,

a day pass may be obtained through the IARC Operations, room 415, for $3/day.
Q. Is there wireless Internet in the Akasofu Building?
A. Yes. Wireless Internet is provided throughout the Akasofu Building via UAFnet and GIWireless. For more information about the UAFnet wireless network, please visit:
