The International Arctic Research Center serves as a focal point for integrating arctic research efforts in terms of climate change. IARC is helping to form bridges between local, national and global communities to foster communication and further the research being done in arctic climate change. We do this by bringing together world class scientists for collaborative research projects, by working with other institutions around the world towards a common goal of understanding arctic climate change, and by involving local communities around Alaska in research such as permafrost and snowfall monitoring.

IARC is also helping to educate the next generation of scientists while inspiring k-12 teachers and youth to learn about the changes taking place in the Arctic by showing them how to measure and investigate these changes in our education and outreach programs.

Your gift will help IARC to continue with our vision to build an integrated understanding of the Arctic, as a system. Today, the arctic climate is changing rapidly and arctic system research is of upmost importance. Please consider a gift to support our research.

Giving Opportunities

IARC Fund (20561)
This fund is used to help provide support for faculty, early-career scientists, and students at the International Arctic Research Center. The fund allows IARC investigators to undertake research, development, and outreach activities for which funds are not available from other sources.

Over the years, we have been fortunate to receive generous gifts from the following organizations and individuals that have made special programs available and have helped to fortify IARC's research efforts.

• The Lectures in Arctic Studies series was founded by an endowment from the S.T. Lee Foundation.
• The Aurora Alive project, an interactive multimedia science education program, was partly made possible by a gift from the Asahi Beer Natural Science Classroom Fund.
• Seisa Science Fund provided resources for the development of the Aurora Alive project and the Climate Change CD.
